SHE'S here!!

You heard me, it's a GIRL! She's absolutely beautiful too!

It started out Wednesday night, I was having some very very very mild contractions, but ones that would wake me up every couple. I figured it was just strong braxton hicks. My dad, step mom and I went to families house and had breakfast and I was having again, very mild contractions, but about 7 minutes apart. I figured they were just strong braxton hicks. As the day went on, about lunch time I was starting to realize the contractions were getting a little more on the annoying pain side of things. I wanted to sit down and take them instead of going on with whatever I was doing. They were still only about 5 minutes apart so I didn't think anything of it.

W came home from work around 630 and made dinner and I ate and while eating I had to stop when I had a contraction just to focus on it. The pain wasn't THAT bad, but it was enough to steal my attention. Around 9 they were getting pretty bad and was having to have w press on my lower back to help alleviate the pain. At this point I thought I'd go down to bed to try to get some sleep. I went down and laid and was having A LOT of back pains with every contraction. I decided it was time to get in the shower to see if that would help. After about 15 minutes of it not getting any better I had W call my friend Amanda. I would have just asked W to help but he had to work the next morning at 6 am. He called her and she came over. She sat with me and talked and helped time my contractions, going from the shower to the tub. She would rub my back and really was a life saver. The contractions were moving a little closer together, but nothing significant. They had gone from about 6 minutes apart to about 5 minutes apart. We decided maybe I'd try to sleep again, so I came and got in bed and the back pain was horrendous again. I could not get away from it. I sat and labored in bed for about an hour or more when Amanda and W I guess made the executive decision to call the hospital. They let them know I was in labor and the contractions had got down to about 2.5 minutes apart.

We slowly got me dressed and made my way over to the hospital around 1 am. They monitored me and the baby about 20 minutes and everything was looking great. My doctor was called and arrived around 1:45 am. We had all made bets before we left to the hospital how far along I was. Amanda and W thought I was about 5 and I said 2. I was in complete denial and honestly was expecting it to get WAY worse. So doc ended up checking me and said I was dilated 8-9 cm!! I was completely shocked!! I labored on the ball some more and in the bed. The back pain continued and there's no way I would have been able to do it with out W. She checked me again about 2:45 am and she said I was 10, but I had a small lip of my cervix still there. She said if I felt like I needed to push I could though. So I pushed a couple times on the ball still then decided to crawl up on the table. I labored there for the next 30-45 minutes while they prepared everything. I pushed when I felt necessary, but didn't overdo it. At about 3:30 am I could tell I need to really start pushing. With every contraction I gave it all I had. At 3:40 am I heard people saying "we'll probably have a baby before 4 huh?" and my doctor said, oh yeah, easy. About 2 pushes later I gave one big push and she came out all at once. She did have the cord wrapped around her neck, but it wasn't a problem at all. She came out crying and it was the most beautiful sound She was born at 3:46 am on Friday, May 27, 2011. She weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and was 20.5 inches long. It was absolutely love at first sight. Needless to say, she's here and beautiful and now I will show her off

Due date approaching...

So, most of you are probably pretty confused by now. ha! Considering my last one I only had a week left and that was about a week and a half ago :P Well, let me explain! When we first found out we were pregnant we had to calculate when the first day of my LMP (last menstrual period) was. I knew for a fact it was on the day of the womens derby. For some reason, I thought that was August 7th. Calculating from there my due date was May 14th, 2011. Well, I finally got around to transferring all my info over to my new calendars and was shocked when I came across the REAL date of the women's derby... August 14th. Yes, a week later. So we had to move it back a week. Wayne was bummed because he had to wait longer and I was bummed because my dad is coming up during a certain time. All in all though it was a fact we had to accept.

Moving on to the GOOD news. :) I am due in 3 short days. I will PROBABLY go past due in some fashion, but hopefully not too bad. I had a doctor's appointment today and she said I still haven't dropped. She did check me though and she was surprised at how thinned out I was. She said I was 50% effaced and a fingertip dilated. I know this doesn't mean a whole lot, but it means my body is trying, it's working on it. The last time she checked me was when I was 35.5 weeks and my cervix was still very hard and very long, so WE HAVE PROGRESSION.

At any rate we'll be meeting sweet baby V very soon. THAT is something I'm incredibly excited about. This time I mean it when I say, I hope my next blog is a baby blog <3

1 Week

Well, we're a week away from Baby V's due date. HOWEVER, baby V will probably not be coming on it's due date or even before, or heck even anywhere near it's due date! haha! Apparently I have a family history of late deliveries. My grandma's first child (my mom) was 3 weeks late, my mom's first kid (my brother) was 19 days late and I was 14 days late. Not to mention at my last appointment, which had me a day short of 39 weeks the doc didn't even find it necessary to check me. LAME. She said I haven't even dropped yet and she's only know 4 people in her 30+ years of practicing that didn't drop at least a week before they went into labor. Maybe I'll be that one... :P Anyway, I think things are changing, but very very very slowly. I can tell that baby is moving down as I get more movements down there, a few more pains down there, TONS of braxton hicks and can't bend over as easy.

Other than that things have been going well. I had my baby shower almost a week ago on Sunday, May 1st. It was beautiful. Amanda and Jessa threw it for me and they always do such a great job!

So here was my cake! SOO cute! Thank you to Terri Raidmae for making the cake and her culinary arts class for making all the cute fondant animals :)

Here's the favors, which were bath salts made by Amanda. At one point during the pregnancy my belly got REALLY itchy. I did a little research and found that oatmeal baths help with itchy skin so I asked Amanda, who makes bath salts on the side, if she made any oatmeal baths. Of course she did and made me a batch. It's actually a honey oatmeal bath salt. Long story short, they made these salts the favors! So cute! She added a little food coloring to match the decor and added personalized ribbon to tie it off. Oh and here's one of the FOUR diaper cakes that were there too :)

Here's the advice box. Great advice and will use it for a scrapbook someday!

Here are some of the guests playing the smell the diaper and guess what it is game. Man, some of these were GROSS!

We played a game where you had to guess how big I was by tearing off a piece of toilet paper. Kali, our youngest competitor ending up winning! She was not even a quarter inch off!

Cutting the cute cake! We had a Chocolate cake with peanut butter filling and a white cake with kiwi/coconut filling! They were both DELISH!

Here's one of the BEAUTIFUL diaper cakes. This one was made by Angela Bartelme. SO SO pretty. The flowers were fresh too! I saved all the little letters and hope to do something with them a little later on :)

And me showing off some of the cute gifts we got. I believe this particular one was from my mom!

Lastly a picture of Jessa and I. I can not thank her enough for everything she's done for me. I didn't get a picture with Amanda unfortunately, but these two together are just amazing. I'm so blessed to have friends like this. Thank you again a million times over!

Now hopefully my next post will be the debut of baby V! One can hope, right?!

34 weeks and counting!

Oh it's been SOOO long since I've blogged. I LOVE reading peoples blogs and wonder where they are when I haven't seen anything from them  in a while, but here I am, not posting for MONTHS. At any rate, here I am. Today, we are 34 weeks along in the pregnancy. It's odd to think I'm 6 weeks away from my due date. My wonderful friend Amanda came over and took some pictures of me in all my greatness. In other words Katie At Large!  So here's a few of the ones we took. I think they turned out great and couldn't be happier! I think we're going to do some more here later on, we were just both off and available so it was easy today. We're also doing a belly cast later too.

With no further ado... MY BELLY!!

Until next time :)

BABY TIME!

Holy COW! So we found out we're pregnant! We are both very excited, but I think Wayne's beating me in the excitement category! I had my first Dr.'s appointment on Friday and everything is going well :) Baby V is due May 14, 2011. So as of today I'm 8 weeks and 1 day. I'm still a little worried about the first trimester and possibly miscarrying, but I'm trying to stay positive.

So here's a few pictures from the excitement so far :)

The positive test. We were a bit confused when we first saw it, as there's only one really distinct line and the other is rather faint. So when first seeing it, it was deciding whether the "light" line was dark enough to be considered pregnant. After further review and lots of reference pictures (thank you google) we realized that my lines where "backwards." Now they weren't TRULY backwards, just looked it. So we looked a little closer and noticed the control line was the right line and the test line (the one that tells you your pregnant) is the left line. So holy moly! SUPER pregnant! :P

So obviously, being excited about it I thought well I better take a picture to document the "skinniest" I'll be. However, it doesn't have quite the same effect because I'm not skinny at all! HA! At any rate, this is me at 6 weeks 2 day, the day we found out.

So I just took another one today and I already see a change! I don't have a bump at all, but I'm definitely a little fuller! Oh my, this might pop out a little sooner than I was expecting!

Anywho, that's all the news and updates I have! I'll be back for more later! :)

MARRIED! 7.31.10

So we did it! We tied the knot!! It was such a beautiful day and couldn't have asked for anything to go any different. The morning of we got to wake up whenever we wanted to as we didn't have Nani, who was doing our hair and make up, come until 11 am. So we all casually got up and took showers and such. I jumped on trampolines, ran around like a man woman and thoroughly enjoyed myself :)

About 4 we all got dressed and did a mini photoshoot with my photographer who was AMAZING! If anyone is interested her website is www.loreleiphotos.com. She rocked. I hardly noticed she was there until we actually got dressed and her creative mind got going as far as "staged" shots. I then proceeded to undress as around the church was super muddy. At 6 we made our way to the church and redressed me. I had a corset back dress so it took longer then usual. At almost 6:30 on the dot the ceremony started. The girls were GORGEOUS and the little kids did really well. I'm not sure if a 4 year old flower girl could have spread petals anymore perfectly. My dad walked me down the aisle and as soon as I came into Wayne's view and he came into mine we were both with in a centimeter of crying. Luckily we held it together just fine. 10 minutes later the ceremony was OVER! Woohoo!!

The bridal party and special peeps stayed and took some pictures then Wayne and I left to go the Alyeska Resort to take pictures. We had a great time and Lorie was fast and efficient and may I add extremely awesome!

After that... LET THE PARTY BEGIN! We were introduced, did the garter toss (which Wayne surprised me and actually went UNDER my dress!), the bouquet toss and cake cutting. The cake cutting surprised me too because Wayne specifically said no cake slamming and while I was a dummy and played nice, he was not and i got a HUGE piece of cake slammed in my face... BOOOO. After that we danced the night away! The church lady even told us we could stay longer because we were having such a great time!

We left to the sound of beautiful little bells and a nice shiny, racing stripe adored 2010 Chevy Camaro! It was sexy! We drove to the hotel to check in and Wayne left his wallet in the car, so we decided to go get our stuff first, but not until I remembered we didn't sign our legal papers. So we made an embarrassing entrance BACK to the church/reception area where they were tearing the place down. We signed our papers and such and then got our stuff and went back and checked in to the hotel.

It wasn't until we got to hotel that we realized that we were STARVING! So we asked the front desk if they had like room service, only to be told that there's a vending machine on floor 2. Umm... NO.As a remedy, we called Billie and Mueller to see if they could bring us some food. Luckily there was pizza left over from the rehearsal dinner! woohoo!! They brought us a couple pieces and 2 delicious root beers!

Past that is really not ok to tell about, but I think you have an idea. ;)

Anywho, I'm so glad the day went so well. It looked like I imagined, well I didn't really imagine much so it looked MUCH better than I imagined! Here's a few pics from the night :)

5 days!

So it's coming down to the wire now. We're getting hitched in just 5 short days! I feel like there's so much to do, but when it comes down to it I think I got it all under control :) I'm spending these last few days alone before the chaos begins. Wayne is down in Valdez on his week on and gets off Wednesday. I pick up his groomsmen Mueller and McCarty on Wednesday. Cue chaos... Everything has come together pretty well though. It's pretty easy when you're doing literally every hue of pink! haha! My bridesmaids have been MORE than helpful and I couldn't be more gracious. So, soon I will be Mrs. Valentine! WOOT! We're both really excited. Give me about a week and you'll get some pictures :)
